Got a plane? We’ve got a municipal airport, one of the best along the coast in terms of views and conditions.
Air Connections to Gold Beach:
- From the North you can fly into Portland, OR (PDX) take a connecting flight (via Alaska Air/Horizon Air) to North Bend, OR. Rent a car and drive 81 miles on US 101 to Gold Beach.
- From the East you can fly into Rogue Valley International, Medford, OR (MFR). Rent a car and drive 162 miles to Gold Beach.
- From the South you can fly in to San Francisco Airport, (SF) and take a connecting flight (United Airlines) to Crescent City, CA (CEC) and rent a car and drive North 55 miles to Gold Beach.
- Bicyclists find Gold Beach a great place to rest weary muscles.
- Finally, you could catch a raft and arrive here via Rogue River whitewater, and in fact some people do just that. For information on traveling this way and accommodations along the way — some accessible only by watercraft or air — contact Paradise Lodge, or Singing Springs Resort.
Directions driving here
The most common way to get to Gold Beach is by car.
- From the north (Eugene, Salem, Portland and north), we recommend going south on Interstate 5 past Eugene, then go west on Hwy. 38 to the coast, then south on US 101 to Gold Beach.
- From the east (Grants Pass, Medford or Ashland), Hwy. 199 to 197 is your best bet, then go north on US 101.
- From the south (California travelers located in Sacramento and south) are best advised to take Interstate 5 north to Hwy. 20 west toward Ukiah, then US 101 north to Gold Beach.
- From the north (Eugene, Salem, Portland and north), we recommend going south on Interstate 5 past Eugene, then go west on Hwy. 38 to the coast, then south on US 101 to Gold Beach.
- From the east (Grants Pass, Medford or Ashland), Hwy. 199 to 197 is your best bet, then go north on US 101.
